Born May 16, 1944 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Marian E. (Baker) Morey of Lake George and the late James A. Morey.
Gail was a 1962 graduate of Lake George High School, where she was a cheerleader and won awards for secretarial and bookkeeping expertise; she excelled scholastically and was voted “The Class Flirt” in the 1962 Georgian yearbook. Gail later attended classes at Adirondack Community College, leading to a lengthy accounting career. She was employed by Honeywell Information Systems in Boston, and was the Controller of the Lake George Club in Diamond Point for many years.
Gail loved horses and was an owner and avid rider for many years. She was very athletic, and enjoyed waterskiing from a very early age, and downhill skiing throughout her adult life. She was also an expert bowler, who loved music, dancing, and was a consummate strategist at all kinds of card games; Bridge and Hearts, in particular. Gail had a quick wit and terrific sense of humor, she was truly the “life of the party”.
Besides her father, Gail was predeceased by two sons, Robert Coville Malcolm and Scott Andrew Malcolm, as well as her ex-husband, David Sayles Malcolm.
