Obituary of Justin H. Persons

Johnsburg: Justin H. Persons, 42, of Oven Mountain Road, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 1, 2016 after being stricken at his home. Born March 15, 1974 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Martha (Oathout) Persons of North Creek and the late George L. Persons. Affectionately known by his friends as “Juddy”, he was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Johnsburg Central High School. He was a past member of the Johnsburg Vol. Fire Department. He was self-employed, owning and operating Oven Mountain Construction. Besides spending time with his family, Justin enjoyed being outdoors, riding his Harley Davidson, snowmobiling, four wheeling, hunting, fishing, and walking his dogs. In addition to his father, Justin was predeceased his nephews, Nicholas Persons and Jeremy Otruba, and his beloved dog, Murray. He is survived by his mother, Martha; six siblings, Josie Fish and her husband, Kenneth, of North Creek, Eric Persons and his wife, Kate, of Warrensburg, Douglas Persons of Stony Creek, Sara Otruba and her husband, Jeffrey, of S. Glens Falls, Jason Persons and his wife, Penny, of North Creek, and Todd Persons of Minerva; nieces and nephews, Scott, Michael, Thomas, Rebecca, Rachel, Joel, Amanda, Kaleb, Emily, and Christopher. He also leaves behind several cousins, extended family members, special friends, and his best friends, Ginger and River. Friends may call on Justin’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, March 7, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3909 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Justin’s memory to the North Country Hardship Fund, PO Box 101, North River, NY 12856.
