Obituary of Suzanne L. Wood

Warrensburg: Suzanne L. Wood, 65, of Ridge Ave., passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Westmount Health Facility surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born November 23, 1949 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Dorothy G. (Norton) Wood of Warrensburg, and the late Clarence “Pa” Wood. Sue was employed by Warrensburg Laundry for many years until her illness forced her into early retirement. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, heading up to the nearby family camp, eating out, and taking long walks with her dog, Nacho. Sue will be remembered by her decorative hats and colorful outfits. Besides her mother, she is survived by a brother, Ronald Wood of Glens Falls; her aunt, Mae Wood of Corinth; as well as several cousins and many dear friends, too numerous to list. At Suzanne’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. Burial will be conducted privately in the Warrensburg Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Sue’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pillemer and his staff at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, as well as the staff at Westmount Health Facility for the outstanding care given to Sue during her illness. Sue’s final wish was for everyone to learn the signs and symptoms of the many types of cancer and attend regular check up’s and screenings. Early detection can save your life.
