Obituary of Donna M. Archambeau

Warrensburg: Donna M. Archambeau, 64, of Old State Route 9, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 23, 2015, at Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 3, 1950 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Caldwell) Baker. She was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Warrensburg Central School. Donna was a home health aide, and was later employed by several area restaurants, including the Sagamore Resort for many years. Donna was a great mother and grandmother, to more than just her own. She was an avid gardener, who enjoyed spending her time in her flower gardens, when she wasn’t found reading. Donna was a member of the American Legion Post 521 Ladies Auxiliary. She spent much of her time assisting in charity drives. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her second husband, Daniel J. McCarthy. She is survived by her husband, Howard Archambeau of Warrensburg; a daughter, Crystal Baker and her companion, Wayne Anderson, of Warrensburg; two sons, Walter J. Werneu and his wife, Anna, of Glens Falls, and David Baker of Warrensburg; a granddaughter, Kourtney Mattison, of Warrensburg; and her beloved Labradoodle, Sammy. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Donna’s family from 1 to 3 pm, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation at 3 pm, Thursday, at the funeral home. Spring burial will take place at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Warrensburg Cemetery.
