Obituary of Craig W. Lanfear

Warrensburg: Craig W. Lanfear, 59, of Third Ave., passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, June 21, 2007 from complications following a heart attack in Stony Creek. Born May 4, 1948 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late William and Leona (Chase) Lanfear. Craig was a lifelong resident of the area and worked as a plumber, mason, heavy equipment operator and all around handyman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and many many friends. He will be missed by all, especially by his 65 lb. pocket puppy, J.D. Besides his parents, his son, Mark; his sister, Alma McDermott; his brothers in law, Paul McDermott and Harry Shippy have all predeceased him. Craig leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Valerie (Norton) Lanfear of Warrensburg; his three sons, Matthew, Craig (Squirt) and Sean (Shorty) all of Warrensburg; his brother, Robert Lanfear of Lake George; his three sisters, Helen McDermott of South Glens Falls, Margaret Batease and her husband, Floyd of Queensbury, Patricia Shippy of Glens Falls; three grandchildren, Makalynne Young, Jonah Lanfear and Matthew Lanfear; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Craig’s family from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. His family suggests that memorial donations be made to any charity that helps feed the hungry.
