Mary Hodge, 93, formerly of Taylor, PA, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center.
Born August 17, 1918 in Taylor, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Koban) Timko.
Mary married William Charles Hodge on January 1, 1942 in Taylor, the couple enjoyed 40 wonderful years together until his passing in 1982.
Mary was a wonderful mother by heart and loved her family unconditionally.
She was an avid supporter of the 14th Armored Division Reunion organization with her husband; they attended the state and national events on a yearly basis.
Besides her parents and beloved husband, she is predeceased by her brothers, Michael Timko and George Timko; and two sisters, Julieann Johnson and Ann Timko.
She is survived by her children, William Robert Hodge and wife, Elizabeth of Lancaster; Carol Ann Ray and her husband, Richard of Glens Falls; George Allan Hodge and his wife, Vera of Depew; grandchildren, William F. Ray and wife, Tammy; Suzanne Ray and her fiance, Jeffery Fiato; Cheryl Wozniak and husband, Paul; William E. Hodge and wife, Julie; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Tina Ray, Nicole Wozniak, and Cooper Hodge; a sister, Helen Sokol of Old Forge, PA. She also leaves behind her in-laws, Theodore and Nancy Jones of Taylor, PA, and her cherished friend, Elizabeth Mitchell of Canandaigua; along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Mary’s family from 10 am to 12 pm, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, PA 18517.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 12 noon.
Burial will be conducted in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of the Argyle wing at Fort Hudson Nursing Center for the wonderful care Mary received.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Mary’s name to Fort Hudson Nursing Center, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828, or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
