Obituary of Franklin J. Foos

North Creek: Franklin J. Foos, Jr. 67, of Milton Ave., passed away peacefully Monday, August 29, 2011 at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a 20 year battle with COPD. Born November 13, 1943 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Franklin J. Sr. and Jeanette (Niccastro) Foos. In his youth, Frank served as an alter boy in the Catholic Church. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1960, where he served in an Airborne unit before his honorable discharge in 1963. Frank worked as a newspaper printer and professional EMT in the Rochester area before relocating to the Adirondacks in the late 1970’s. He married Deborah LaPell on April 2, 1983 in North Creek. Frank was the bar manager at the original Basil and Wick’s in North Creek, later working beside his wife at the North Creek Laundromat. He was a devoted husband and father, who loved spending time with his family. He thoroughly enjoyed the company of his 6 year old grandson, Brian. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his father-in-law, James LaPell in 2001. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Deborah LaPell Foos; daughter, Krista Lee Foos; grandson, Brian Franklin Hewitt, all of North Creek; sister, Mary Vleck of Venice, FL; mother-in-law, Olga LaPell of North Creek; and daughters, Debbie and Laura. He will be forever missed by those who loved him and heard his jokes throughout the years. At Frank’s request there are no calling hours scheduled.
