Obituary of Carolyn R. Leigh

Warrensburg: Carolyn R. Leigh, 61, of Theresa James Street, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 13, 2009, at her home following a brief illness. Born August 25, 1947 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Barbara (Dimick) Curtis of Minerva and the late John ?Jack? Curtis. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a faithful cafeteria staff employee at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek for over 20 years. Most recently she held the position of Assistant Director of Food Services. She also worked part time as a Bartender at Ashes Hotel in Warrensburg. Carolyn?s favorite pastimes included following her NY Yankees and Giants and missing the late great Dale Earnhardt. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She was a member of the Haskell Brothers Post 4821 Ladies Auxiliary in Warrensburg. Survivors besides her mother, Barbara, include her children, Rusty Leigh and his wife, Melissa of Queensbury, Michele Leigh and her companion, Keith Monroe of Johnsburg; three grandchildren, Heather, Michael and Lydia; three brothers, Jack Curtis and his wife, Ruth Ann of Colorado, Bob Curtis of Minerva and Earl Curtis of North Creek; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Carolyn's family from 4-7 pm Friday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River. A service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Trudy Pettibone, Pastor of the Minerva Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Haskell Brothers Post 4821, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
