Obituary of Philip B. Millington

Warrensburg: Philip B. Millington, 66, of Alden Ave., passed into the arms of the Lord on, Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born January 27, 1942 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Harold Lee and Sarah Maeola (Vaughn) Millington. Phil attended Warrensburg Central School after which he was employed by CWI, Oscar’s Smokehouse, Bruce Frulla Sawmill, and Dick Frulla Lumber. He enjoyed working on cars, trucks, and the occasional ATV or snow machine, as well as carpentry work. Phil’s “tools” were ever present and he invented several things to make things easier or more efficient. Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by, his stepfather, Howard D. Vernum; maternal grandmother, Julia (McDougal) Vaughn; paternal grandmother, Dora (Hack) Millington; several uncles and aunts; his brother, Ronald L. Millington; his half sister, Lenora Vernum; sister in law, Joyce K. Millington; niece, Elizabeth K. (Millington) Harrington; and infant nephew, (Selleck). He leaves behind his loving and patient wife, Cindy; his son, Chauncy L. Millington and daughter, Kayla Sweet, all of Warrensburg; his sister, S. Jane Willemsen of Indian Lake; niece, Deborah Coller of Fairport; nephew, James D. Selleck of North Creek and their respective families. A memorial service to celebrate Philip’s life will be conducted 3 pm Sunday, October 12, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. B.J. Stewart, pastor of the Indian Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on Phil’s family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of ones choice.
