Obituary of Betty Joanne Millington

Hudson Falls: Betty Joanne Millington, 56, of Country Acres, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born May 11, 1953 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Muriel (Carlson) Hitchcock Sr. At the young age of 16, Betty Jo was involved in a life threatening automobile accident that led to her passing. Betty Jo lived the past 15 years with Rosemary and Edward Flaska in Hudson Falls. She became very much a part of their family and enjoyed many celebrations with the Flaska family. Shelly and Mike Farrington and their children, Scott Flaska and his wife, Elizabeth, Richard Flaska and his wife, Renee’ and their children, as well as Tricia and Walter Tague and their children. Betty had frequent visits with Tammy Mein and her family. We are very thankful for all Tammy did for Betty Jo. Her favorite pastimes included the many vacation trips spent with the Flaska family. All are invited to a celebration of Betty Jo’s life at the Flaska residence, 66 Country Acres Dr., Hudson Falls on Friday, February 5th beginning at 5 pm. Besides her parents, her sister, Marilyn Hitchcock, her brother in law, James Hammill and many aunts and uncles have predeceased her. Survivors include her two sons, Eric Millington and his wife, Christine and Scotty Millington both of Florida; her six siblings, Karen Bennett of Indian Lake, Earl Hitchcock Jr. and his wife, Victoria of Greenwich, Sandra Hitchcock of Glens Falls, Helen Hammill of Hadley, M. Royce (Bud) Hitchcock and his wife, Ying of Salt Lake, Utah, and Desmond Hitchcock and his wife, Geraldine of Minerva; many aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Betty Jo’s family from 2-4 pm Saturday at the Bakers Mills Wesleyan Church. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 4 pm Saturday at the church with the Rev. Ronald Allen officiating.
