Obituary of Theodore G. Patton

Johnsburg: Theodore G. Patton, Sr., 77, of State Route 8, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his home. Born July 2, 1939 in Waverly, NY, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Tyler) Patton. Ted worked at Barton Mines as a Carpenter and Urethane Specialist, where he was a dedicated employee for 37 years before retiring. Ted was an avid story teller, who also enjoyed woodworking, reading, fishing, boating, bowling, and painting. In addition to his parents, Ted is predeceased by his daughter, Shellie M. Teachout, step-children, Bonnie and Arthur Gage, grandson, Lonnie Gage, and son-in-law, Michael Teachout. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Patton of Johnsburg, children, Theodore Patton, Jr., Scott Patton, Sr. and his wife, Erika, Michelle Saunders and her husband, Chad, and David Patton and his wife, Laura; step-daughter, Charlene Wood; brother, Bob Patton and his wife, Doris; sister, Kathy Schwedt and her husband, David; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Ted’s family from 3 to 5 pm, Thursday at the Mountain View Community Church, State Route 8, Bakers Mills. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 5 pm, Thursday at the church, with Rev. Shane Diener, Pastor officiating.
