Obituary of Adrienne F. Scodary

Chestertown: Adrienne F. Scodary, 51, of Van Guilder Rd., passed away, Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with Lupus. Born April 27, 1957 in Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late June (LaPenna) Fraser and Angus M. Fraser of Staten Island. Adrienne was raised on Staten Island and graduated from Tottenville High School in 1975. She went on to major in Music Education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. She returned and married, Philip Scodary, her childhood sweetheart on June 12, 1977. The couple resided and raised their family on Staten Island before moving to the north-country in 1986. Adrienne accepted a position as administrative secretary at Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York in 1996. She and her family settled in Carmel, but returned to the area in December of 2003 as her illness became more disabling. She was a communicant and member of the church choir and millennium choir at St. James RC Church in North Creek. She was very proud of being selected to visit and perform on her clarinet in Israel in 1998. She loved music and animals. Survivors besides her father, Angus, include her husband, of 31 years, Philip Scodary of Chestertown; her two children, James P. Scodary and Christina Scodary both of Chestertown; her sister, Beverly Dalzell and her husband, Gerald of Rutherford, NJ; her brother, Charles Fraser and his wife, Mary Beth of Freehold, NJ; sister in law, Marion Gundersen and her husband, Richard of Derry, NH; two nephews, Matthew and Cian Dalzell; Aunt Jessie DiFrancisco of Long Island and many additional extended family members. Friends may call on Adrienne’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 am Friday at St. James RC Church, Main St., North Creek with Fr. John O’Kane officiating.
