Lake George: Alice M. Davis, 82, of Truesdale Hill Road, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born March 21, 1928 in Thurman, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maude (Ross) Walker. She married Clifton J. Davis on September 29, 1956. The couple had been married for 53 years. Alice attended school in Thurman, as well as in Warrensburg, where she graduated high school. She worked at several local businesses, including the Warrensburg Shirt Factory, and later in the cafeteria at the Warrensburg Central School. She enjoyed her grandchildren, whom she was so proud of. They were her favorite topic of conversation. Alice also enjoyed caring for her flower garden, going for a ride, and a bite to eat with her husband. She was a country girl and enjoyed the simple life. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers; Ray and Kenneth, and her sisters; Clara, Mabel, and Julia. Along with her beloved husband, Clifton, of Lake George, Alice is survived by her sons; Jim Davis and his wife, Sherri of Warrensburg, Tom Davis and his wife, Lynn of Bolton, Bill Davis and his wife, Sue of Warrensburg, and Dan Davis and his wife, Wendy of Lake George; grandchildren; Baron and his wife, Angel Davis, Tammy Deuel, Todd, Kori, Melissa, Ben, Josh, and Noah Davis; 6 great-grandchildren, who knew her as “G.G.”; her sister, Gladys; and her dog, Buddy. She will also be missed by her extended family members, including Marion Davis Luppy and many nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law, Abbie Hastings. Friends may call on Alice’s family from 12-2 pm Saturday, March 27th at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Richard C. Leonard, Pastor of the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow the service in the North Caldwell Cemetery, Lake George. Honorary bearers will be her grandsons; Todd, Baron, Ben, Josh, and Noah Davis. The family invite all to join them following the services for continued fellowship at the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Alice’s memory to the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church, River St., Warrensburg; The Smile Train, 28th Floor, 41 Madison Ave., New York, New York 10010; or a charity of one’s choice.
