Elizabeth “Betty” Thayer, age 66, of Murfreesboro, Tenn. died Monday, April 24, 2006. She was a native of Warrensburg, and the daughter of the late Francis and Imogene (Arthur) Thayer.
She worked many jobs in the Glens Falls – Lake George area, the last being a fifth grade teacher in the South Glens Falls School District before moving to Tennessee. In Tennessee, she worked a couple of computer management jobs before becoming an agent for Bob Parks Realty. The last several years, she and her husband were general contractors in residential construction. “Ms Betty”, as she was known, was well respected by the subcontractors and will be dearly missed by her many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Morgan; daughter, Jamiee Lyn Ross and husband Roy of Thurman; stepdaughters Heidi Lynn Morgan and campanion Dave Hebb and Cynthia Larean Twiss and husband Dave, both of Glens Falls; stepson Roger Kirk Morgan and companion Karen Keast of Gansevoort; sisters Alice Fisher and husband Lawrence of Bell Buckle, TN; Barbara Smaldone and husband Bruce of South Glens Falls; brother Arthur Thayer of Prospect, CT; three grandchildren, Kenneth B. Gillingham of Thurman, Keith D. Gillingham and wife Andrea of Warrensburg, Kevin F. Gillingham of Warrensburg; three step grandchildren, Kea Davie and Husband James of Gansevoort, Joshua Ezzo of Gansevoort, Liane Rafferty of Elizabethtown; three great grandchildren, Gennah E. Lampheir, Jordan Ray Lampheir, Michele Lyn Gillingham, all of Warrensburg; and family pet and loving companion Dakota. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy S. Black.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at 5:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg, 3890 Main Street, with the Rev. Dawn Robbins, Pastor and the Rev. Paul Dufford officiating.
