Obituary of Florence G. Siletti

Thurman: Florence G. Siletti, 97, of Strawberry Hill Road in Thurman, passed into the loving arms of The Lord on Jan. 7th at The Pines at Glens Falls. Born July 28th, 1917 in New York City, Florie was the best Wife, Mom and Nana, and she loved her family above all else. Born Florence Gallo, daughter of Peter and Jennie (Curti) Gallo, Florie graduated from P.S. High School in Queens N.Y. Florie married Ettore (Eddie) Siletti on November 29th, 1942 in Flushing, Queens. Besides cooking and caring for her family, she enjoyed nature (especially all birds) and tending to her pets. Florie was employed by Warrensburg Central School, working in the cafeteria, and, for those of you with little children in the 70's and 80's, she was a regular sight working the gift shop at Magic Forest in Lake George. She was a member of the Rosary/Altar Society and taught Catechism classes at St. Cecilia's for many years. In addition to her husband of 59 years and her parents, Florie was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Gallo, who was also 97 when he passed. She is survived by her sons, Peter and his wife Joanne, of Queensbury, Paul and his wife Pam of Athol and Jay and his wife Trudy of Thurman. She also has five grandchildren, Diana Rafferty and her husband,Jim, Jennilee Ehle and her husband, Joe, and Dante, Jacob and Christian Siletti. Also, four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christian and Madison Rafferty and, Ty Ehle. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family from 5 to 8 PM, Monday, January 12th, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrate her life at 11 AM Tuesday, at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main Street, Warrensburg. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Reynold's Cemetery in Thurman. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Florie's memory to the St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg, N.Y. 12885.
