Obituary of Clement F. Rounds

Thurman:
Clement F. “Bo” Rounds, 89, of High Street, passed away, with his daughter by his side Thursday evening, February 28, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness.
Born February 11, 1919 in Thurman, he was the son of the late Herbert and Grace (Russell) Rounds.
Bo was a lifelong resident of the area and in his youth worked at the CC Camps before WW II.
He married Edith Bills Rounds on November 22, 1941 in Bolton Landing. His working years included logging, working for International Paper in Corinth, Emerson Fuel Oil Co., Warrensburg Grain and Sawmill and Warrensburg Board and Paper. He retired after several years with Twin Pine Lodge and Resort in Bolton Landing.
Bo’s favorite pastime included making maple syrup, spending time with his family, gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking, building bird houses, mowing with his John Deere tractor and reading his morning paper.
His children loved to get their dad reminiscing about the old days.
Besides his parents, his beloved wife, Edith passed away on December 24, 2003 after 62 years of marriage; his sisters, Hilda Rounds, Doris Morrissey and brother, Glendale Rounds have also predeceased him.
Survivors include his five children, Rose Marie Parlapiano and her husband, Michael of Connecticut, Henry “Buck” Rounds and his wife, Maggie of Michigan, Robert Rounds and his daughter-in-law, Sue Monroe of Warrensburg, Earl Rounds of Chestertown, Wannetta Reed and her fiancée, Kenn Stephenson of Connecticut; sisters, Muriel LaPointe and Lea Sumner 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his little dog George.
Friends may call on Bo’s family from 4-7 pm Monday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 pm Monday at the funeral home with James A. Baker Sr. officiating.
Burial will take place in the Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman this spring.
Bo’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff on Tower 6 at the Glens Falls Hospital and to the Warren Co. public health nursing service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Thurman EMS, Athol, NY 12810.
