Lake George: Barbara H. Dorr, 79, formerly of Sand Pebble Cove, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at her residence in Newport, NC following a brief illness. Born August 3, 1928 in Hinckley, she was the daughter of the late William and Leona (Welch) Harvey. Barbara graduated from the Poland High School and went on to earn her teaching certification from Syracuse University in 1947. She taught business classes at Bolton Central School District for many years. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading and traveling were but a few of her favorite enjoyments. Her two husbands, Robert F. Lamb and Fred Dorr; and step brother, William Harvey have all predeceased her. Survivors include her son, Robert Lamb Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of Lake George; her daughter, Sharon Curtis and husband, Larry of Havelock, NC; five grandchildren; Shaun Curtis, Erick Lamb and his wife, Cindy, Cachelle Wormell, Sabrina LaPointe and her husband, Anthony, Gregory Curtis as well as five great grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob, Patrick, Erick Jr., and Samantha; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be conducted 11 am Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with Fr. Barry Lonergan of St. Cecilia's RC Church in Warrensburg officiating. Friends may call on Barbara’s family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
