Obituary of Ruth Mary LaCourse

Warrensburg: Ruth Mary LaCourse, 84, of Elm St., passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Westmount Health Facility. Born May 6, 1931 in Newcomb, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Grace Eugena (Cloutier) LaCourse, and one of seven children. She was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, before relocating to Warrensburg, where she worked for the Warrensburg School in the cafeteria, as well as for Warrensburg Laundry, bringing smiles to both young and old. Ruth was a warm, compassionate woman of faith, with sparkling eyes, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was a blessing and living example of Christ; she could always light up any room she walked in and touched many with her unwavering love. She enjoyed BINGO, Gin Rummy, word searches, lotto, dancing and listening to Elvis, and a good joke. Ruth was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Warrensburg, where she actively served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Ruth shared an unbreakable bond with her sister, Grace, with whom the Webster family was blessed to have with them for over forty years; living by example, she was looked up upon by their children in their formative years as an “extra” parent. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Theresa LaCourse, Mary Ellsworth Farmer, and Roger and Donald LaCourse. She is survived by her sisters, Grace Webster of Warrensburg, and Margaret (Bernard) Plantier of Latham; nephews, Joseph Webster, Richard (Patty) Webster, Edward (Kristine) Webster, Timothy (Lisa) Webster; niece, Elizabeth Collier, and several extended family members. Friends may call on Ruth’s family from 12 to 1 pm, Monday, June 8, 2015 at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 1 pm, at the church with Father Paul Cox, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Warrensburg.
