Obituary of Jane L. White

Jane L. White, 82, of Robert Gardens, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born September 13, 1923 in Garfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Marjorie (King) Wheeler.
She spent her pre growing up years in the Garfield and Wayne, NJ areas, and later in Whiting, NJ. While residing in NJ, Jane was a longtime member of the Eastern Star.
In January 1942, Jane married Kenneth White of Belleville, NJ. During her husband’s 3 ½ year tour of duty in the US Army, Jane worked at Mack Molding in Wayne, NJ and years later at Little Falls Laundry in Little Falls, NJ.
She moved to Queensbury in October of 1999 and was a parishioner of the Church of the Messiah Episcopal in Glens Falls.
Besides her parents, her husband, Kenneth White passed away on July 18, 1999, after 57 years of marriage. Her stepfather, Henry Berckmann, stepmother, Esther Wheeler, brothers, Jack K. Wheeler and George E. Wheeler and son in law, Joseph Deppe have also predeceased her.
Survivors include her daughter, Jacqualine Deppe of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Joseph K. Deppe and his wife, Kristin of West Shokan; Kathleen Whitelaw and her husband, Seth of West Chester, PA; great grandsons, Seth Brooks Whitelaw and Joshua Nicholas Whitelaw of West Chester, PA; her brother, Milton Wheeler and his wife, Wilma of Kanona; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and good friends, especially, Terry and Bill Buchanan and Kathleen Angsten of West Paterson, NJ.
Jane was loved and will be missed by many.
Friends may call on Jane’s family from 6-8 pm Thursday evening, Sept 7, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 am Friday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville with the Rev. Scott Harding, Pastor of the Church of the Messiah in Glens Falls officiating.
Friends may gather with the family at the funeral home, Friday morning at 9 am and join the funeral cortège to the cemetery departing the funeral home at 9:30 am.
Memorial may take the form of donations to the Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01174 or to a charity of ones choice.
