Obituary of Mabel V. Gonyo

Mabel V. Gonyo, 92, of State Route 28N, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek.
Born April 3, 1923 in Port Henry, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Meader) Gonyo.
Mabel was raised in the local area and went on to nursing school at Albany Medical Center.
Her career as an LPN spanned over 40 years. She was very dedicated to the nursing profession and enjoyed working at the Albany Medical Center in the OR department for many years. She also enjoyed working at the Children’s Hospital in Albany as well before retiring.
She moved back to Minerva following her retirement and became active in the Sleeping Giants and MSO seniors citizens groups. She enjoyed attending her church, the Grace Bible Fellowship.
She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family.
Besides her parents, Mabel is predeceased by her brothers, Walt, Raymond and Frank Jr.
She leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins including Marvin and Joyce Gonyo of Minerva.
A graveside services will be conducted 1 pm Friday, May 1st at the Minerva Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Haneman, Pastor of the Grace Bible Fellowship Church officiating.
