Johnsburg: Jeffrey Harrison, 52, beloved father, grandfather, and son has left this world too soon; passing away late Wednesday evening, August 19, 2015, at his family home in Johnsburg. Born June 30, 1963, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Liane (McKee) Harrison of Johnsburg and the late Charles “Chuck” Harrison. Jeff graduated from Guilderland High School in 1981 before attending Adirondack Community College and later obtaining his Bachelor Degree from SUNY Cobleskill. He was passionate about animals and their nutrition, teaching the occasional class at SUNY Cobleskill and working for several animal feed companies throughout his life including Agway, Semican, Blue Seal, A & J Enterprises, and most recently Cargill. Jeff has always been active in the communities in which he lived; he served on the Corinth School Board and WSWHE BOCES board. He was a communicant at the Sodom Community Church, and enjoyed surrounding himself with great people and will be missed by many. In addition to his mother, Liane, Jeff is survived by his son, Alvey Harrison and his fiancée, Nikki Green; a granddaughter, Evelyn Harrison, all of Corinth; two sisters, Leisha Harrison Vinci of Delmar, and Stephanie Hamilton and her husband, Damen, of Southampton; brother-in-law, Jim Vinci of Delmar; uncle, Lance McKee of Cazenovia; cousin, Brian McKee and his wife, Brooke, and their two daughters, Maren and Finley of Brooklyn; and his aunt, Mildred McKee of Chestertown. Friends may call on Jeff’s family from noon to 2 pm, Monday, August 24, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation in Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg, with Pastor Ronald Allen, of the Sodom Community Church, officiating. Following the burial, friends are invited to gather in celebration of Jeff’s life at the Sodom Boy Scout Hall, 8 Peaceful Valley Road, Johnsburg. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Jeff’s memory to the SPCA of Upstate New York, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
