Obituary of Josephine H. Hensler

Warrensburg: Josephine H. Hensler, 92, formerly of Schroon River Rd., went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born September 19, 1917 in Roslyn, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Seidler) Kneuer. Josephine was raised and educated in East Meadow, Long Island. She met and married her husband, Ivor F. Hensler on September 27, 1935 and the couple raised their family in North Bellmore. For many years, the Hensler’s vacationed in the north-country and permanently located to the area in 1961, settling in Riverbank. Josephine was a member of a ladies group that enjoyed making quilts for cancer patients during the early years. She also loved gardening, knitting and crocheting. Spending time with her grandchildren was her most favorite pastime. She was a longtime active member of the Warrensburg First Baptist Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Ivor, who passed away on March 16, 1980 after 45 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by her four brothers, Gustav, Frank, Henry, and Lester; and her four sisters, Julie, Mary, Margaret, and Louise. Survivors include her four sons, Charles Hensler and his wife, Patricia, Raymond Hensler, Jerry Hensler and his wife, Linda, Jack Hensler and his wife, Doris all of Warrensburg; sisters, Caroline Mangogna of Queensbury, Vera Jilnicki of Florida; 12 grandchildren, Charles Hensler, Clair Ann Hensler and her husband, Dr. Robert Hughes, Chris Hensler and his wife, Barbara, Raymond Hensler II and his wife, Debbie, Jerry Hensler Jr and his wife, Joanne, John Hensler and his companion, Miko, Joseph Hensler and his wife, Jessica, Kelly Hensler, Roy Hensler and his wife, Justine, Jane Woodworth and her husband, Joshua, Elisabeth Liddle and her husband, Donald, and Karl Hensler; 14 great grandchildren; five step granddaughters, Kelly, Michelle, Theresa, Ann and Patty; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Josephine’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be conducted 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with Guy Swartwout, Lay Minister of the Baptist Faith officiating. Burial will follow in the Warrensburg Cemetery.
