Obituary of Jeanne M. Kellogg

North River/St. Mary’s, PA: Jeanne M. Kellogg, 61, of St. Mary’s, PA, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, MA, after being stricken by a stroke. Born March 23, 1954 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Elizabeth (Cleveland) Hayes. Jeanne was a graduate of Johnsburg Central School, class of 1972. She married Patrick M. Kellogg on May 11, 1974 in North Creek; a courtship that started at the young age of 14. Jeanne began her career, working at Ellis Hospital in 1972, and was later employed by Elk County Region Health Center in St. Mary’s, PA for 29 years. In addition to spending time with her family and dear friends, Sue McLaughlin and Dr. Steven Larkin, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, and their January getaways, gardening, cooking/baking, bowling, tennis, skiing, the great outdoors, and many hours on the telephone, especially with her brother, John, during the PGA golf tournaments. Jeanne was a beautiful person with an infectious smile, and compassionate soul; she always put others first, and extended a helping hand to those in need. Besides her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph R. and Edward J. Hayes. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Pat Kellogg, of St. Mary’s, PA, and North River; two sons, Brian Kellogg of St. Mary’s, PA, and Eric Kellogg of Rock Hill, and his companion, Jennifer Murri, of NYC; five siblings, John Hayes and his wife, Sharon, of Queensbury, Fred Hayes of North River, J. Thomas Hayes and his wife, Cathy, of Glendale, AZ, Janette Biggs and her husband, Scott of Schenectady, and Richard Hayes and his wife, Sandy, of Hudson Falls; father-in-law, John Kellogg of Edgewater, FL; brothers-in-law, David Kellogg and his wife, Amy, of Edgewater, FL, Michael Kellogg and his wife, Amy, of White Plains, Jeffrey Kellogg and his wife, Debbie, of North Creek, and Scott Kellogg and his wife, Marianne, of Atlanta, GA; a sister-in-law, Valerie Venezia and her husband, Frank, of Glenmont. She also leaves behind several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Jeanne’s family from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, October 23, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will take place at 11 am, Saturday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Ronald Allen, Pastor of the Sodom Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in North River Cemetery.
