Obituary of Carol A. Coulman

Weldon, NC/Warrensburg: Carol Ann Coulman, 73, formerly of Warrensburg, returned home to the Lord Monday, October 24, 2011 at her home in Weldon, NC, after a lengthy illness. Born September 28, 1938 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Margaret Burch. Carol was employed by the Warrensburg Shirt Factory. She later provided loving care as a CNA, in her own home, where she served as a home care provider to adults with disabilities that she had taken in from institutional settings in the Wilton area. She wrapped up her working years as a tax preparer for H&R Block in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Warrensburg until relocating to North Carolina in 1998; there she was a member of the Roanoke Baptist Church. Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her husband, six children, and many grand and great-grandchildren. She was a very giving and kind-hearted person and always helped others when she could. She also loved animals and donated regularly to the ASPCA. She was predeceased by her son Timmy Ty Coulman; grandsons, Jason Monroe and infant Nathaniel Coulman; and her great-granddaughter, Avah Coulman. Carol leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, David Coulman, whom she married August 30, 1957; her sons: Arnold Coulman and his wife, Dianne of Port St. Lucie, FL; William Shawn Coulman and his wife, Chris of Queensbury; Cedric Coulman and his fiancée, Wendy Golden of Gansevoort; Franklin Coulman of Weldon, NC; her daughter, Juanita Bradway and her husband, Leonard of Warrensburg; a brother, Curt Burch of Warrensburg. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Daniel Coulman, Christina Moody, Justin Coulman, Jeremy Taylor, Cedric D. Coulman, Raymond Coulman, Ashley Coulman, Jessica Smith, Kayla Vernum, Brandon Bliss, and Kiara Coulman; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and nieces. Friends may call on Carol’s family from 12-2 pm Thursday at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating.
