Please share a memory of Julia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Julia D. Wood, 56, of Harrington Hill Road, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009, while being held and comforted by her children, Ernest Converse, Tonya Springer, Angel Clark, Michelle Young and Nicole Wood, along with her true love and husband of 23 years, Herbert Wood. Jay, as most knew her truly valued her family the most. She will be joining her cherished mother and father, Eleanor and Ernest Converse as well as her two sisters, Ernestine Cheney and Sue Stone in heaven. Jay will be forever missed by her sole surviving sister and close friend, Betty Engle and four brothers: David McNeil, Patrick, Donald and Christopher Converse. Jay was a hard working, fun loving independent woman who truly enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She traveled often but always came home to the Adirondack’s, where she loved family picnics, long car rides and planting. She often spent time during the summer traveling and camping with her children and their families. She never missed a Salmon run in Pulaski where often all five children, their spouses and her grandchildren would join her. Her most memorable times were spoiling her eight grandchildren: Sabrina Fish, Amanda Springer, Nicholas Springer, Makalynne Young, Peyton Clark, Kaden Holly Wood, Kayla Arnold and Tanner Braley. She will be forever missed and remembered for her spirit on the holidays especially Halloween and Christmas. Private family graveside services will be conducted on Friday in the Warrensburg Cemetery. There are no calling hours scheduled. Family and friends are welcome to join together for a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Northwoods Lodge, Bear Pond Road, Athol. Donations in honor of Jay can be made at the Celebration of Life to help offset the cost. BYOB. Please visit www.alexanderfuneralhomes.com for online guestbook and condolences.
