Obituary of Alice M. Prosser

Warrensburg: Alice M. Prosser, “Old Goat” 84, formerly of Scotts Drive, passed away peacefully Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Fort Hudson Health Care Facility. Born March 17, 1926 in Horicon, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Rosetta (Hill) Belden. Alice was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many, even to those who didn’t know her. She was a very independent woman. She loved to go on Sunday drives with her companion, Bill Wood. The couple enjoyed traveling around upstate New York. Over the years, she was employed as the head housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Lake George, and was a waitress at the former Wilcox Restaurant. She went on to retire from Valcor Paper Company in Glens Falls. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sons: Randolph J. (Pete) Prosser who passed away in 2000; and Stewart W. Prosser who passed away in 2003; her infant daughter, Candie Prosser; her brothers: Clifford Belden and David Moffitt; her sisters: Elizabeth Belden, Ethel Hayes, Wilma Abare Eldridge, and June Potter; sister-in-law, Mabel (Arlene) Moffitt; brother-in-law, David Eldridge; and the love of her life, Charles Jaquish. Alice leaves behind her daughters, Judy Ann Prosser of Warrensburg; Deborah Prosser of Warrensburg; her sons: Michael Prosser and his wife, Bonnie of Warrensburg and Daniel Prosser of Copake; many grandchildren including Tammy Frasier, whom she raised and considered her as one of her own, and her husband, Steve of Chestertown; numerous great-grandchildren including her very special great granddaughter, Camie Eppedico. her brothers: Harold Moffitt and his wife, Sue of Warrensburg; and George Moffitt of Bolton Landing; sister-in-laws: Myrna Belden of Warrensburg and Cindy Moffitt of Chestertown; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Alice’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Warrensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the activities fund at Fort Hudson Health Facility, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
