Obituary of Robert L. Carpenter

Warrensburg: Robert L. Carpenter, 66, of Alden Ave., passed away, Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at his home after suffering a heart attack. Born February 5, 1941 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Edgar and Bertha (Potter) Carpenter. Bob was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1959. He began his working years, with the Laborer's Union, working on such projects as building the Adirondack Northway. Most of his career involved working with his brother operating Carpenter Brother's Excavating and Logging of Thurman. Bob was an avid sports fan, whose favorite teams were the NY Yankees, Boston Celtics and following the NASCAR career of Jimmy Johnson. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren also meant much to him. Survivors include his three children, Robert K. Carpenter and his wife, Jill of North Creek, Michael B. Carpenter and his wife, Rebecca of Diamond Point, Stacy Breault and her husband, John of Warrensburg; his three grandchildren, Michelle Carpenter, Christopher and Shawna Breault; the mother of his children, Sharon Morrison of Warrensburg; his seven brothers and sisters, Phillip Carpenter and his wife, Rosie of Thurman, Ellen Connor and her husband, Tom of Warrensburg, Mary Sweet and her husband, Jack of Warrensburg, Donald Carpenter and longtime companion, Donna Keck of Thurman, Edgar Carpenter and his wife, Sheila of Warrensburg, William Carpenter and his wife, Leslie of Stony Creek, Richard Carpenter and companion, Lisa Penistan of Warrensburg; his aunt, Ethel Maxam of Chestertown; his "adopted daughter", Heather Annis of Warrensburg and special friend, Donna Knickerbocker of Thurman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Bob’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted 10 am Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Cornelius, Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg officiating. Burial will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery.
