Obituary of Joseph E. Ehle

Warrensburg: Joseph E. Ehle, 79, of Grandview Lane, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born July 20, 1937 in Plattsburgh, he was the son of the late Homer and Beryl (Supley) Ehle. Following his high school graduation from LaSalle Military Academy in Oakdale in 1956, he was drafted into the United States Army, proudly serving his country as a tank mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1961. He married Rose M. Pagano on May 26, 1962 in St. Brigid’s Church in Carle Place, Long Island. He began his employment as a surveyor with Local 15D in New York City for 20 years, until he decided to relocate his family to Warrensburg, where he continued surveying local properties, as well as purchasing and operating The Pine View Motel with his wife until 1993. He then went on to work for the Warren/Hamilton Housing Corporation until the fall of 1999. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed life; most notably hunting, hot rods, woodworking, road trips with his beloved bride, and watching the NY Jets. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Peter Ehle, who passed away in 1968 at the age of 25. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rose Ehle of Warrensburg; his children: Joseph R. Ehle and his wife, Susan of Warrensburg; Daniel J. Ehle and his wife, Tracey of Warrensburg; Ralph V. Ehle and his wife, Rebecca of Medford Lakes, NJ; Darci Strickland and her partner, Hal Greene of Montauk; Darlene McQuillan and her husband, Gary of New Hampton; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Joe’s family from 12 to 2, pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 2 pm, at the church with Fr. Paul Cox, officiating.
