Obituary of James T. Gibson

Warrensburg: James T. Gibson, 75, of Main Street, passed away, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 15, 1932 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Wallace and Anna (Cosgrove) Gibson. Jim was a US Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. While residing on Long Island, Jim was an electrical engineer with the State of New York. He married Ruth E. (Long) Gibson in 1970 and the couple moved to Warrensburg following their retirement. They owned and operated the White House Lodge Bed and Breakfast on Main Street for many years. Jim was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s RC Church and a member of the Haskell Bros. Post 4821 VFW. His favorite pastimes included restoring and maintain his vintage automobile collection, a 1930 model A sports coup, a 1950 Willy Jeep and a 1917 Model T Touring car. Besides his parents, his beloved wife of 37 years, Ruth Gibson, passed away on August 28, 2006. Survivors include his aunt, Agnes Dallas-Cosgrove of Halifax, Nova Scotia; sister in law, Vera Brueckner of Largo, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Thursday at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. Paul Cox, officiating. Members of the Haskell Bros. Post 4821 VFW will hold a brief service prior to the mass. Rite of committal will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Jim’s family one hour prior to the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haskell Bros. Post 4821 VFW, PO Box 574, Warrensburg, NY 12885. A reception will follow the services at the VFW Post.
