Obituary of Wally Jean Vetter

Warrensburg: Wally Jean Vetter, 81, of Rollies Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born November 22, 1937 in Hempstead, she was the daughter of the late Tommie and Amy (Farrell) Vanatta. She met the love of her life, Steven Vetter following his return stateside with the United States Army in 1966 and eventually wed in 1969. The couple started a family and raised their children in Wantagh. Wally loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, listening to her oldies and playing cards. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, nana, and friend. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a son, Daniel Dugan and brother, Tommie Vanatta. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Steven Vetter of Warrensburg; a daughter, Donna Vetter of Queensbury; grandchildren, Travis and Trevor Gosselin; siblings, Bobby Vanatta, Peggy Falco, Margie Potts, and Amy Sebastiano. Friends may call on Wally’s family from 12 noon to 3 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 3 pm, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
