Obituary of Kenneth J. Meade

Crown Point: Kenneth J. Meade, Jr., 57, most recently of Crown Point and formerly a lifelong resident of the North Creek area, passed away, Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga following a long illness. Born February 11, 1950 in North River, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Golda (Harvey) Meade Sr. Ken graduated from the Johnsburg Central High School and went on to work at Barton Mines Corp. in North River for several years. He also worked as a night watchman at Gore Mt. Ski Center for many seasons. His favorite pastimes included fishing, touring the local back roads and visiting and sharing stories with family and friends. Besides his parents, his half sister, Brenda Jane Hybers also predeceased him. Survivors include his half brother, Alfred Harvey of Greenfield Center; aunt, Betty Monroe of North Creek; uncle, Jim Harvey of Greenwich; niece, Jackie, nephew, Jay; and several cousins. Friends may call on Ken’s family from 12 – 2 pm Wednesday, January 16, at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 2 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home with his cousin, the Rev. Ashley Meade, officiating.
