Obituary of Victoria M. Wilsey

Warrensburg: Victoria M. “Torrie” Wilsey, 59, of Cloverleaf Drive, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital follow a long illness. Born April 2, 1950 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Audrey (Burch) Wilsey of Warrensburg and the late James D. Wilsey. Torrie was a lifelong resident of the area and following her high school graduation she went on to attend the Homer School of Nursing in Houston, TX and the University of South Florida majoring in International Relations. She enjoyed time spent as a substitute teacher at the Warrensburg Central School over the years and also was an avid reader, florist and crafts maker. Torrie was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross and St. Cecilia’s RC Church both of Warrensburg. She also taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women’s group at the Church of the Holy Cross. Besides her father, her two uncles, Stephen and Donald Burch have both predeceased her. Survivors besides her mother, Audrey, include her brother, Christopher Wilsey and his wife, Sally and their daughters, Megan and Stephanie of Carmel, IN.; two uncles, Robert Wilsey and his wife, Marcia of Glens Falls, Harold Wilsey and his wife, Ann of Arkansas; her three aunts, Judith Burch, Louise Hayes and Joyce MacClelland all of Warrensburg. Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Dialysis Center of the Glens Falls Hospital. Friends may call on Torrie’s family from 7-9 pm Wednesday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. An Episcopal Mass to celebrate her life will be conducted 11 am Thursday at the funeral home with Father John Cornelius, Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Warrensburg EMS or the Glens Falls Hospital Dialysis Center.
