Obituary of Anson D. Pratt

Anson D. Pratt, 61, of Church Road, reached his final destination Monday, April 17, 2017 at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born January 11, 1956 in Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late Lawrence “Larry” G. Pratt, Sr. and Verma (LaPrairie) Pratt Frazier.
Anson started his lifelong journey in 1956 through many detours, bumps, and dirt roads along the way with his beloved family members.
He married Christine Tennyson on June 7, 1970.
He was known as a good handyman and worked at many of the local summer camps in the area including Camp Che-Na-Wah, Camp Baco, and Howard LaRose. He and his close friend and neighbor, Gerry Galusha worked together for many years in the local cemeteries.
Anson was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, going to fairs and looking for the next good meal. He loved his tractors and trucks and his 420 bulldozer and many other projects as well. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Christine T. Pratt; children, Sam H. Tennyson and Anson J. Pratt, all of Olmstedville; three grandchildren, Katelyn Tennyson, Joshua Briggs, and Alayna Pratt; siblings, Roger Pratt and his wife, Wanda, of Antioch, TN, Lorraine “Judy” Dutcher and her husband, Eugene, of Pottersville, Lawrence W. Pratt and his wife, Diane, of Minerva, Daniel Pratt of Minerva, Charlene Gibb and her husband, James, of Chestertown, Paula Taylor and her husband, Peter, of Minerva, Ronnie Pratt and his companion, Karen Teneyck of Minerva, Laurie Manley and her husband, Michael, of Charlotte, NC, Lawrence G. Pratt, Jr. and his companion, Billi Jo Brown, of Minerva; step-mothers, Carol Holcomb-Pratt and Carolyn Pratt. He also leaves behind several extended family members and friends.
Friends may call on Anson’s family from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Grace Bible Fellowship, 1427 N. Gore Road, Olmstedville.
A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, at 1 pm, Tuesday at the church, with Pastor Chad Haneman, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Danny Raymond, Gerard Tennyson, Bobby Galusha, Ronny Galusha, Ethan Galusha and Matt Plumley.
Burial will follow in Minerva Baptist Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his beloved father, who passed March 22, 2017.
