Obituary of Donald Daab

Lake George: Donald “Dabber” Daab, 68, of Harrington Hill Road, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 10, 1950 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Tansey) Daab. Following his graduation from Brewster High School, he proudly served his country with the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1971. He married “his bestie,” Eddilyn Guilder on May 10, 1980. Don worked as a self-employed contractor for many years before taking a position at Irving Tissue. Anyone that knew Dabber knew that he was a one of a kind dude. He had an incredible, twisted sense of humor and he loved to laugh and party like a rock star. He also enjoyed golfing and hanging with his buddies from Irving Tissue. Above all, he loved his family, his home, and his undying “love” for “Flamin, flippin, flamingos!” Although too short, he lived his life to “dance like nobody’s watching, sing like nobody’s listening, and live everyday like it’s your last.” Fly high, until we meet again, Dabber you a**hole… Besides his parents, he is predeceased by siblings, Catherine Cala and Scott Daab. He is survived by his 37 year old wife, Eddilyn Daab of Lake George; children, Lisa Daab and her companion, Craig Henry of Lake George, Noah Daab and his wife, Megan of Warrensburg, and Auriel Daab of Lake George; grandchildren, Samantha and Christopher Henry, and Ella and Taylor Daab; his siblings, Jean Young and her husband, Jerry, Peggy Moreland and her husband, Jim, Roberta Daab, Steven Daab, Michael Daab and his husband, Louis Bolden; his fur buddy and constant companion, Finnegan and granddogs, Kaydo and Gracie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Dabbers request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. A celebration of his life will be held from 2 to 6 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Green Mansions Golf Club, 207 Darrowsville Road, Chestertown. Come one come all to raise a glass and share a memory, and don’t forget to bring your “game on” hat!
