Obituary of Eleanor E.G. Morehouse

North Creek: Eleanor Emily Grace Morehouse, 78, went into the arms of the Lord, Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek after a long illness. Born September 27, 1930 she was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer and Florence (Marvin) Cox. Known to many as Ellie, she brought great joy to those around her. Ellie spent the early years of her married life living on 11th Mountain in Bakers Mills. Ellie was a longtime resident of North Creek. She enjoyed camping, fishing and anything that pertained to the great outdoors. Ellie worked for many years at the Gore Mountain Ski Center and the Park Lane Motel. Besides her parents, her brothers, Edward Ward and Larry Cox have both predeceased her. Survivors include her sisters Joan Hitchcock and her husband, Ralph; Yvonne Aldridge and her husband, Edward; Carol Mitchem and her husband, Charles; her brothers: Dewitt Cox and his wife, Nelda (Pat); David Cox and his wife, Pat; Merl Cox and his wife, Ella Mae, and William Cox; as well as many loving Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. At Ellie’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. Burial will be held in the spring in Oneonta at the family’s convenience. Ellie will be greatly missed by her family and friends forever.
