North Creek / Hampton VA: Lee B. Armstrong, 81, of North Creek, went into our fathers loving arms on Sunday, September 15, 2013 while in Hampton, VA. Born November 5,1931, he was the son of the late William H. Armstong & Jennie May Lingenfelter of Johnsburg. Lee attended school in Johnsburg until he joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict as a corpsman. Following his honorable discharge, he met and married Alice D. Armstrong. Lee was a member of Local Union No. 186 where he worked as a laborer all of his life. Lee was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was also known for his amazing gardening techniques. He enjoyed reminiscing about the good ole days, always reminding us how he walked 5 miles to and from school no matter what the weather was. He was a member of the Local American Legion in North Creek. Lee was predeceased by his daughter, Darlene J. Armstrong Haynes, a son Christopher L. Armstrong and a son, Gregory L. Armstrong. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Alice Armstrong, daughter Deborah Yontz and husband Jeff of Hampton VA, daughter Penny Persons and husband Jason of North Creek, and son William Armstrong and wife Lisa of North Creek. Grandchildren: Benjamin, Anthony, Greg, Patrick, Dianna, Kaleb and Emily and two great grandchildren Montana and Jansen. Friends may call on Lee's family from 11 am to 12 pm, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 12 pm at the funeral home.
