Obituary of Eric J. Lang

Warrensburg:
Eric Joseph Lang, 49, formerly of Library Avenue, took his father’s hand, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 to go to heaven to be with our Lord. His mother and sister were at his side. He is now at peace after a long battle with cancer.
Born March 25, 1967 in Long Island, he was the son of the late Richard and Agnes Lang.
Eric was raised in the Bronx and Yonkers by his father and mother, Edith.
He graduated from Lincoln High in June of 1985, where he excelled in football and Lacrosse.
He married his first wife, Sherri Scoggins and had two beautiful children, Erica and Andrew Lang of Lexington, NC. He later married his high school sweetheart, Rita Colarusso-Lang and they added two more beautiful children, Francessca and Louis Lang of Warrensburg.
Eric owned and operated EJ Electric for many years and added Carmella’s Deli that the family ran for a few years.
For the last year of his life he dated a wonderful kind woman, Lisa Diggs, who stayed with him through tough times.
His favorite pastimes included time spent with his 4 children and other family members; following the NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, hockey, boating and eating.
In addition to his father and mother, Eric was predeceased by three sets of grandparents and his cousin, Vinny.
He is survived by his mother, Edith Gardiner Lang of Broadalbin, four children; Erica, Andrew, Francesca, and Louis Lang and their mothers; sister, Missi Lang-Goldblatt of Indian Lake; his companion, Lisa of Clifton Park; and several nieces, and nephews and other extended family members.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at St. Cecilia’s Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg, with Father Paul Cox presiding.
Friends may call on Eric family one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Eric’s memory to The Community Hospice Inn, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208
