Obituary of Vernis D. Fish

Warrensburg: Vernis D. Fish, 67, of Milton Avenue, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 6, 1945 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Vernis G. and Cordia (Combs) Fish. He was a lifelong resident of Warrensburg, where he was affectionately known as “Budgie” since his childhood. In his earlier years Vern worked as an auto body technician. He enjoyed small engine repair, radio controlled airplanes, and motorcycles and will be remembered for his devotion to his assortment of pets. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Gloria (Fish) Anderson, and a brother, Donald Fish. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and close friends. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, September 23, 2013 at Warrensburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Vernis' name to the SPCA of Upstate New York, 588 Queensbury Avenue, Queensbury, NY 12804.
