Obituary of Elizabeth J. Kennedy

Warrensburg: Elizabeth Kennedy, 73, of Theresa James Street, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Indian River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Born October 29, 1942 in Bolton Landing, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Anselmo and Elizabeth (Norton) Graves. She married Matthew Kennedy on February 27, 1992. Besides spending time with her family, Elizabeth enjoyed many morning cruises with her husband on the Mohican on Lake George and the Warrensburg Volunteer Fire Company, Smokeeaters Jamboree Chicken Barbecue. She took great joy in caring of her four legged friends, her cats Cupcake, Honeypie, and dog, Hershey. Besides her parents, and adopted parents, James and Olive Lynch, she is predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Anselmo, and James and Patrick Lynch. She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Matthew Kennedy of Warrensburg; her children, Dane Joel Smith and his companion, Jane Vorgender of OK, Donna Sherrie of Bayonne, NJ; grandchildren, Grant and Connor Smith; brother James Anselmo of Hadley; half-sister, Christine Anselmo, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Elizabeth’s family from 10 am to 12 pm, Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 12 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Renal Center, 3 Broad, St. Glens Falls, NY 12801 or to the Warrensburg Emergency Squad, 3 King St., Warrensburg, NY 12885.
