Roland “Ron” Haskell, 71, passed away Friday morning, November 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
Born August 25, 1946 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Haskell.
Ron proudly served his country for three years in the Army with the 187th Infantry with the 101st Airborne Division. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed for 35 years with the New York State Department of Transportation and retired after 40 years of service.
He went on to work for Clemente Latham Concrete, Jeremy & Owen Dingman Enterprises, and rose to the position of Vice President in John Baker’s Trucking Company.
He was past member of the Warrensburg Fire Company and Warrensburg Emergency Squad.
His greatest enjoyment was golf and being a member at Cronin’s Golf Resort for 40 years and socializing with his friends.
He is survived by his 3 daughters; Robin Haskell of Evansville, IN, Susan Franck and her husband, David of Murrieta, CA, and Angela Cancemi and her husband, Anthony of Kings Park, LI; his siblings, John Haskell and his wife, Kathy of Athol and Sharon Himelrick and her husband, Claude of Gansevoort, as well as 5 grandchildren; He also was blessed with Goddaughter Logan Hayes and her 2 children and a great many special friends, Jack Sweet, Tom Drain, John Baker, Roger Combs and Donna DeLoria who surrounded him throughout his last days.
Ron’s life was full and well lived and he will be missed by all.
At Ron’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
