Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Schroon Lake: Kevin A. O’Neil, Sr., 62, of Marina Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 1, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 30, 1953 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Bernard and Mary (Russell) O’Neil. Kevin spent his youth in that “Norman Rockwell” setting of Bolton Landing, where he attended school before relocating and graduating from Whitehall Central School, excelling in their football program. He is survived by two sons, Kevin O’Neil, Jr. and his wife, Kristina, of Hamilton, NJ, and Scott O’Neil of Rochester; three grandchildren, Kaley, Kaitlyn, and Kacey O’Neil; a brother, Bernard O’Neil and his wife, Therese of Saratoga; sister, Pam O’Neil of East Dorset, VT; nieces, Ana Ventre and her husband, Ryan, Isella, and Ashley Starke and her husband, David; nephew, Tyler Frost; and great-niece, Sophie Grace of Aurora, IL. He also leaves behind his best friend, “Okemo” and several extended family members and special friends. Throughout his life Kevin developed this gregarious personality which endeared him to almost everyone who had a sense of humor and lived in the moment. Kevin will always be remembered as a gentleman and a lover of life. He had been especially gifted with a luminous smile and an affectionate personality. As the saying goes, he would give you the shirt off his back. His personal accomplishments in life were many and will be remembered by his close friends for his compassion for others. The O’Neil family would like to send a very special thanks to High Peaks Hospice for their exceptional contributions during a very difficult time. Friends and family may wish to consider a contribution in Kevin’s name to Saranac Animal Clinic, 3900 State Route 3, Saranac, New York, 12981. At Kevin’s request there will be no calling hours scheduled. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held from 1 to 3 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Barking Spider, Main St., North Creek, where friends are encouraged to gather in his memory.
