Bolton Landing:
Charlie Earl French, 77, of Finkle Road, passed away, Thursday, June 17, 2010 after being stricken at his home.
Born on June 22, 1932 in Bolton Landing, he was the son of the late Charles and Cordelia (Baker) French and beloved husband of the late Janet (Havron) French.
Charlie was a lifelong resident of Bolton Landing and was employed by the Local 157 Laborers Union in Schenectady for over 30 years until his retirement.
He loved the great outdoors. Charlie could often be found hunting, fishing, and reading. He had a great passion for his heritage and the history of the Adirondack Park.
Besides his parents and wife, Janet of 54 years, he is predeceased by his sisters: Gladys, Doris, Phyllis, and Elsie; and his brothers: Wardner and Arthur.
Charlie leaves behind his beloved children: Debbie Alesi and her husband, Phil of New Milford, CT; Kibby French and his wife, Michele of Pottersville; Kelly French and his wife, Tammy of Crosby, TX; Peter French and his wife, Tracy of Bolton Landing; and Patrick French of Bolton Landing; his loving grandchildren, Samantha, Terry, Duane, Michele, Joanne, Heather, Kyle, Jamie, Charlie-Beth, Seth, Dustin and Brooke; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iva Coon of Bolton Landing and Ella Wescovich of Mississippi; one brother, Arnold French of Bolton Landing; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his coffee buddy and chauffer, Tom Curry and “Sis” Patricia Kownack.
Friends may call on Charlie’s family from 5 to 8 pm, Monday evening, June 21, 2010 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Charlie will be laid to rest along with his beloved wife, Janet’s earthly remains, during a graveside service at 10 am, Tuesday, at the Brant Lake Cemetery with Harold Shippe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Bolton Rescue Squad, PO Box 1054, Bolton Landing, NY 12814, or to the charity of one’s choice.
