To the Maltbie / Bolton clan:
I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't help but have wonderful and fun memories of Uncle Clate. Since I've been in the family almost 20 years, there are many. But the first impression of Uncle Clate scared me. It was a family Christmas party and he came over to me talking funny on purpose. I remember thinking "What is wrong with this man, he scares me" But then I got to know him and he would just make me laugh! Of course it goes without saying how he always used to sing "IT's apple blossom time, in orange New Jersey, we'll make a peach of a pear..."
You are all in my prayers and I am so sorry that I was not able to make it today. I am thinking of you all right now.
May Uncle Clate rest in peace.
Hugs to you all,
Heather

Dear Kaki and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Clay was a very special guy and I really enjoyed working with him. He taught me a lot about DOT and was a great mentor. I will never forget Clay and all the good times we had. He made everything a lot of fun while,at the same time, being the consumate expert.
Clay hired me and it made a huge difference in my life. I will always be grateful. God bless you all with His peace.

I am flooded with memories of my Grandpa. I will never forget the way he would tear up while telling me how proud he was of me. I will never forget the same everlasting jokes he told time & time again. I will carry them with me always.
I'm going to miss you, Grandpa. You've provided me with enough laughs to last a lifetime. For that, I am forever grateful. I rest easy knowing you are in heaven with Aunt Polly.
Love,
"La La"

I knew Clay when he worked at DOT. He was a truly wonderful person to know and work with. Business minded, but with a sense of humor too. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

To the Bolton Family,
I'm truly sorry to hear of Lay's passing. I worked with him for years at the Soil Mechanics Bureau. I actually met him before I came to work at the Bureau in 1979 when I worked for a drilling and blasting company that did work for the State. He was one of the first people that I knew form DOT. He was a great guy and will be dearly missed.

Dear Kaki, Tom, Jon and Jill:
I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.
Clays' passing is truly the end of an era.
The ten years (which passed far too quickly) I spent under his tutelage, did as much or more to shape who and what I am (that's a good thing!) as anyone else's influence in my life.
May we all keep a little of Clay with us in our hearts and souls.
