Bolton Landing: Janet Havron French, 72, of Finkle Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, January 30, 2007 at her home after a long and courageous battle with lung disease. Janet was where she wanted to be, surrounded by her loving family. Born September 24, 1934 in Bolton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bessie (Younes) Havron. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charlie French; her five children, Deborah Alesi and her husband, Phil of New Milford, CT, Kibby French and his wife, Michele of Brant Lake, Kelly French and his wife, Tammy of Crosby, TX, Peter French and his wife, Tracy of Bolton Landing, Patrick French and his companion, Susan Lamb of Bolton Landing; her sister, Patricia Knowack and her husband, Bill of Burnt Hills; her loving grandchildren, Samantha, Terry, Duane, Michele, Joanne, Heather, Kyle, Jamie, Charlie-Beth, Seth, Dustin and Brooke; seven great grandchildren; a special cousin, Jackie Havron and numerous other cousins and nieces and nephews. In addition to caring for and raising their own children, Janet and Charlie opened their home to numerous foster children over the years all of which held a special place in Janet’s heart. Janet was known for her smile and quick wit which was seen around Bolton for many years at her various places of employment, which consisted of The Country Diner, Bolton Central School, Frank’s Snack Bar, The Grand Union and Tops Market. For many years, Janet was active in Cub Scouting and Little League baseball in the Bolton area. She was a past member of the Rebecca Lodge and a former trustee of the Bolton Free Library. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren that she referred to as the little people. Besides her parents, her brother, Harry (Had) Havron, a daughter in law, Donna French and her very close and special friends, Clara Cameron have all predeceased her. Janet’s family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of the Glens Falls Hospital and Bolton Health Center for their care and compassion during the last several months, the Bolton Rescue Squad who were always there for her, Tom and Theta Curri and all her other friends and neighbors to numerous to list for all your support and compassion over the past couple of years. At Janet’s request there will be no public calling hours scheduled. A private service will be held today at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Bolton Rescue Squad, Bolton Landing, NY 12814 or an organization of ones choice.
