Obituary of James H. Moffitt

Warrensburg: James H. Moffitt, 79, a resident of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the WWARC home on Sanford Street. Born March 26, 1933 in Chestertown, he was the son of the late Jesse and Anna (Potter) Moffitt. Jim spent most of his life in the Warrensburg-Chestertown area. He has been a resident of the WWARC homes for more than 25 years. While at the ARC homes, he made many friends and was loved by all. His ARC peers and staff were Jim’s extended family. He loved company and always wanted coffee and his tobacco. He also loved wearing his hats everyday. In addition to his parents, half sister, Lillian Bailey, Elizabeth Monroe; half brothers, Albert, Earl and Elmer Alger; sisters, Anna May and Alice and brother, William Alger have all predeceased him. Survivors include his ARC family, especially close friend, Cindy Jordan of Greenwich; his guardian-cousin, Harold Moffitt and his wife, Susan of Warrensburg; half brother, Clarence Alger of Warrensburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Jim’s family from 11 am – 1 pm, Monday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Darrowsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WWARC, 436 Quaker Rd, Queensbury, NY 12804.
