Betty A. Mattison, 81, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ, surrounded by her family.
Born July 30, 1933 and raised in Yonkers, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Christie) Larmon, and a 1951 graduate of Yonkers High School.
Following her marriage, to husband, Del, the couple relocated to Warrensburg, later moving to Mount Vernon, where they lived for a number of years. Upon Del’s retirement, they transitioned back to Warrensburg, where she resided until her declining health caused her move to Rockaway, NJ in 2011, allowing her to be close to her daughter and son-in-law.
Most of her life, Betty was a dedicated home maker, who loved country music, and was frequently found listening to several local Warrensburg bands. She belonged to the Minnie Ha Ha Chapter 227 Order of the Eastern Star in Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her late husband Delmar G. Mattison, who passed in 1982.
She is survived by a daughter, Lori Vidal and her husband, Gil, of Rockaway, NJ; two sons, Robert Mattison of Glens Falls, and Alan Mattison of Lemoore, CA; a grandson, Dan Vidal of Miami FL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Betty’s family from 12 to 2 pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 2 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Nancy Barrow officiating.
Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
