Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bolton Landing:
After a long illness, Charles M. Jones, 83, of Brailey Hill Road is at peace; our dear father, husband and grandpa went see his Father on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.
Charles was born Sept. 26, 1929, in South Bend, Ind., where he met his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty. He was the son of the late James Murray and Margaret (Pegg) Jones.
Charles is survived by his wife, Betty Jones; six daughters, Patricia Zand, Diane Willebrands, Kathryn Mitchell and her son, Malik, Carol Jones, Nancy Hawxhurst and her daughter, Stefanie, and Constance Ganz, and her daughter, Melissa, all residing in New York; his sister, Margaret Pegg of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles started his career with Studebaker in South Bend, Ind. He was asked to join Mercedes-Benz of North America in Montvale, N.J. Charles retired from Mercedes-Benz of North America as the national distribution manager.
He and Betty’s dream was to retire in Bolton Landing and build their retirement home, where they have resided for more than 25 years.
Charles loved reading and talking German with his best friend, Karle, in Germany. He especially enjoyed taking his boat out on to the waters of Lake George to fish with his beloved Golden Retriever, Lady.
Charles loved talking to everyone in Bolton Landing, and everyone loved talking to Charles. Our family’s heart aches now that we cannot talk to Charles.
At Charles’ request, there will be no calling hours scheduled.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at the convenience of his family.
Charles’ family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to High Peaks Hospice and a very special thanks to Teri Harrington in our time of need.
