Obituary of Carol Cole Combs

North Creek: Carol Cole Combs, 65 of Combs Road, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2005 at her home. Born May 12, 1940 in North Creek, she was the daughter of Lucy (Bunker) Cole of Warrensburg and the late George Cole. Carol graduated from Minerva High School with the Class of 1958. She married John V. Combs of North Creek, on June 28, 1958 and the couple raised six children. Carol was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed for many years at the Tri-County Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek. Her favorite pastimes included traveling with her husband cross country to spend time with their sons and grandchildren. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, listening to her favorite music and spending time at her computer. Her greatest joy was special moments between her and her grandchildren. Besides her father, her loving sister, Marjorie Czub, sister in laws, Judith Cole and Patricia Coombs have all predeceased her. Survivors besides her husband of 47 years and her mother, include her four daughters, Tammara Keiser of Queensbury, Tonya Leddick and her husband, Vincent of Pottersville, Tara Sears and her husband, Paul of North Creek, Trish Gardner and her husband, Simon of Minerva; her two sons, Thomas Combs and his wife, Kathy of Princeton, TX, Robert Combs and his wife, Kimberly of Chapmansboro, TN; her brother, Thomas Cole of Spencerport; 12 grandchildren, five step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins; and longtime friends and confidants, Bertha Walker of North Creek and Vera Washburn of Bakers Mills. Friends may call on Carol’s family 2-4 pm Saturday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 4 pm the funeral home with the Rev. Diane Marquit, Pastor of the North Creek United Methodist Church officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Johnsburg EMS, North Creek, NY 12853 or to a charity of ones choice.
