Obituary of Roy C. Gould

North Creek: Roy C. Gould, 94, of Circle Ave., passed away, Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek. Born September 15, 1911 in South Schroon Lake, he was the son of the late Charles and Ella (O’Neill) Gould. Roy was a lifelong resident of the area and served in the US Army during WW II. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and married Catherine Sheehan on September 6, 1947. Roy was the manager of the Adirondack Gas and Appliance Store in North Creek for many years. He was a communicate of St. James RC Church in North Creek, a charter member of the North Creek Rotary Club, member of the North Creek Vol. Fire Co. and longtime member of the North Creek American Legion Post 629. Roy’s favorite pastimes included playing golf with his close friends, visiting with members of the “Old Fogies Club” at the Senior Citizens Center, enjoying the morning newspaper, National Geographic, and other periodicals, cover to cover. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His wife, Catherine passed away on December 30, 1991 after 44 years of marriage. His sister, Dorothy also died before him. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Rita Williams and her husband, Lloyd; his granddaughter, Emily Williams; and niece, Gayle Chalich all of Queensbury. Friends may call on Roy’s family from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Members of the North Creek American Legion will gather for a service at 7:00 pm Tuesday during the visitation at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 am Wednesday at St. James RC Church in North Creek. Spring burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Irishtown.
