Obituary of Nancy M. Pierson

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Creek: Nancy M. Pierson, 68, of Old River Road, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Deward and Blanche (Morse) Millington. Nancy was born on October 5, 1941 in the same home that she passed away in. She graduated from Johnsburg Central School and married Thomas L. Pierson on June 11, 1960. Nancy and Tom would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this June. Nancy was employed at Klippel’s Drug Store, the Inn on Gore Mountain, and was the Attendance Officer/Nurse’s Aide at Johnsburg Central School for over 18 years. After retiring from Johnsburg, she worked for Sterling Goodspeed Law Offices, and then became a typesetter for the North Creek Enterprise. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Janice Macero and Gail Campney. Nancy is survived by her husband, Thomas, and their four children, Thomas and Laura (Mace) Pierson of North Creek, Shelley (Pierson) and Thomas Fuller of North Creek, Kathryn (Pierson) and Michael Markwica of Warrensburg, and Todd and Carrie (Drinkwine) Pierson of Willsboro. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Chelsea, Lyndsey, Tommy, John, and Sara Pierson; Jaime, Colleen, and Thomas Fuller; Whitney and Noah Markwica; and Zachary and Rylee Pierson; her brothers, John Millington from Crown Point and Deward Millington from Ticonderoga; her brothers and sisters in-law, Joan and Lloyd Burch, Doug and Mary Alice Pierson, Shirley and Ralph Coon, Donnie and MaryLou Pierson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Nancy was an avid reader. She loved gardening, flowers, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed spending time at Stewart’s with her many coffee buddies. Nancy had a new found love of technology, especially her iPod and emailing her many friends. She was really good at staying in touch with her friends and family. But most of all, she loved spending time and laughing with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Nancy said it best, “I love my life.” Her family would like to say a special thank you to William Orluk, P.A., who always took special care of Nancy. Friends may call on Nancy’s family from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home at 3809 Main Street in Warrensburg. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, April 12, at St. James RC Church, Main St., North Creek with Fr. John O’Kane, Pastor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The American Diabetes Association or The Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Foundation.
